This site will keep you up to date on our project – what we’re doing, forthcoming events, press information etc. It is also a source of information for young people who want to find out more about regeneration in Barrow-in-Furness.
Regeneration means lots of things but basically it’s improving our communities with a focus on:
It is our job to make sure that YOU have a say in what happens in YOUR town. We think this is important because it is the town where we live, and we’re the ones who will be living and working here in the future. We are finding out about regeneration, and wanting to talk to you to find out your views on what makes Barrow a great place to live. We plan to then make recommendations to organisations involved in the future regeneration of the town.
We have just carried out some research for Forum TwentyEight looking into the use of the centre by young people in Barrow. We worked with Lancaster University to create a questionnaire that we conducted in our schools with years 7-11. The findings and recommendations were pulled together and we presented them to the management team of the Forum TwentyEight.
We're hoping our findings will influence what the Forum Twenty Eight shows in the future and how this will be promoted.
Thanks to everyone who helped us carry out this research. We'll be sharing our findings with you soon so watch this space ...
